Ashanti was famous when she was an teen. The year 2002 was when she signed with Murder Inc. Records. Ashanti was featured as the Fat Joe's What's Luv? Also, she was featured in Fat Joe's track"What's Luv!" as well as the Ja Rules' track Never on Time, both of which became huge hit songs. When she had Foolish and What's Luv at Number One and her first number one hit, she was the only woman to record two songs in the Billboard Hot 100 chart top ten in the United States. Tina Douglas' mother was a dance instructor and Ken-Kaide Douglas, the father of Ashanti Douglas, was a singer. The Kenashia Shia family is their younger sister. On October 16 Hey Baby (After the Club) was released to radio and digital outlets. She starred in the film Christmas in the City and as Latasha Montclair on Army Wives.
